Good Morning Friendsโฅ
Looks like F's day was a tough one for some... โฅ's to you...
Ours was pretty quiet, due to mrSew not really beaing able to eat picnic type food, so I made his fave mince/pasta type dish instead... Mum & Dad were here too...
MissF seems to be coming out of her 'funk' of the last few weeks. Excitement today - there is voting for prefect roles for next year happening for the yr11's today. MissF is on the ballot, it would be so fantastic for her to be a prefect, & I know she really wants to be one... Cross your fingers for her?? ta
Today I am thinking about my Nan, who died on this day in 1993, Sept 5th... it was F's day that yr. She was a much sought-after tailor for many years, & I really think that's where I got my interest & talent in stitching & sewing. She was always so supportive of my early efforts on a machine & encouraged me to learn embroidery some day. She lived in Kalgoorlie, & I loved going to her home, I adored her, she died only 2mo's before I got married, but she wouldn't have been there anyway shuch was her frailty at that time.
For many yrs she always said to me that when she died, that I was to have her Singer treadle sewing machine & her 1960's sewing machine, & all the associated stuff. A combination of a dreadful family rift that started months before her death, & her not having a Will, meant I have none of it now. But I am proud to say that I am the only g-daughter of hers that sews & stitches...
(The cousin who grabbed the stuff, his then-partner decided she didn't want it after all, & sold it for a song at a Garage Sale without his ok-ing it. He still kicks himself about it)
Have a great day, All
