A controversial conservative Catholic cardinal said in an interview that the forces of “radical feminism” have brought the once-mighty church to its knees, led to a “fluffy,” feminized view of sexuality and made way for generations of pedophile priests.

Cardinal Raymond Burke said in an interview with website “The New Emangelism: Drawing Men to Jesus Christ and His Catholic Church” that the church needs to return to its male-centered roots and stop catering to “women’s issues” in order to regain its once robust standing in the world.

Burke is the former St. Louis Cardinal who headed the Vatican’s highest court until a recent run-in with Pope Francis saw him demoted to a ceremonial position far from the church’s seat of power.

More likely that mothers are listening to their children now and exposing those vile predators, and victims are more willing to tell their stories.

If he starts to blame anyone other than the perpetrators, then he is as guilty as each one of them.

The Church can not scare people into silence anymore, but those peadofile priests still try to put the blame on others to pretend they are clean.

And it is not only the RC Church, but many others that have claimed to take care of orphans and abandoned children. Most of those children where put into those prison-like homes to be used and abused, and the Governements subsiidised such places.

Makes me feel sick, Erica

So typical of the RC church. Blame anyone but themselves for anything evil that transpires within their cloistered ranks. Their mantra? Deny, deflect and obfuscate.

There's a certain cardinal, whose name rhymes with bell, who should be brought to justice for his feigned ignorance of acts committed within his church - he knew full well about them, but chose/was ordered, to remain silent.

But, unfortunately, the churches are not solely to blame - there's many elements of society who are only too willing to take advantage of the weak, defenseless and/or gullible.

Yes, and his best friend, Tony,  turned up in court to give a personal character reference in the appeal hearing of such a priest.

Julia Gillard appointed a Royal Commission into institutional child abuse to investigate the abuse only for abbott to come along and take money from it to set up a RC to go after her.   It's obvious where his loyalties lie and it isn't with the abused.
