Video shows Chinese woman being racially attacked in Melbourne over coronavirus

tipical bottom feeder mentality, sits in public boozing her life away and has all the answers to the problem.
as for her brave male companion, he needs finding and put behind bars, and not the kind of bars he sits at all day!

Uncouth manner in making a point of personal issue of contention expressed publically to someone who visually represents the nation that is the epicentre of a major stress - not normal behaviour by Melbourne struggle class - particularly drinking in public and mouthing off
Struggle class okker dress code , accent , choice use of expressions , sentiment - they were clearly not likely from Jewish/multi-cultural suburb of Carnegie ..... what is a cafe doing open at this time in circle-the-wagons Melbourne ?

How do you know they were Australian?
They look and sound like a cpl of low-life Aussies. Every nation has their low-lives.

i dont think its a come in sit down cafe, its a buy on the fly cafe.
no where to sit and drink your brew whilst chatting with friends.
prolly safer than being in woolies buying groceries.
id even bet the young asian woman was wearing a mask and gloves and keeping her 'cafe' sanitized.
no different than the loud mouthed woman bought her beer somewhere close by i presume
bet she didnt bring it from home

yes very true about the cafe being take-away only , remiss of me as I strive to find some reason
Makes the behaviour of "the mouth" even more unsettling - i think a one-off very un-cool casual crossing of paths of the indignant crass and the innocent , not racial , more motivated by an alarming national issue and the presence of an individual who visually qualifies , unfairly, as being representative of subject country

And speaking as an Australian I have to say our low life okker drongros take a lot of beating.
To be fair to Australian struggle class , Melbourne bogan shoppers do not behave like that in public, but this incident is a really bad look - and unfortunately coincides with international tensions between Australia and China over formal investigations into the origin of coronavirus..just what we need.(not)
I do feel sorry for the female Chinese born business owner/worker

It wouldn't matter if she was Australian-born. Racists don't ask for birth certificates, just look at appearances.

There's been a resurgance in racism in the last few years. Racism goes in all directions and Caucasians can be just as much the victim of racism on various occasions. But the actual racist violence and prejudicial bigotry with real venom has been directed at immigrants of the non Caucasian type This is the remnant of that ugly White Australia Policy.. People tend to lash out at things they're not familar with. Asians have copped a lot of unfair accusations and blame for things they have nothing to do with. Now with this Corona virus scare, all the nasty bigots are coming out of the woodwork.
The title of this thread sums it up very well.

It was not racial - was a bigotry issue motivated by a sense of loss due to another countries percieved gross public health issues causing calamity and vented upon a hapless resident considered unfairly as an in-range-for-censure representitive of subject country

The cynic in me says this is why the border was closed to China long before the US
