Publicity given to the most recent crop of criminally-minded police officers will hopefully lead to greater discrimination within the selection process
but it's the same in the armed forces
same with religious organisations without exception
same with school teachers
same with scouting orgs
and of course, same within the business arena
and within politics
It's always been the same as illustrated within history, worldwide
Women are generally smaller and weaker. This shapes their decisions. It also renders them victims as it does children
If males were smaller and weaker, we'd be dealing with endless cases of female offenders, no doubt
In fact, in the international news last week it was reported that New Zealand males are gaining a voice as victims of sexual crimes committed by females
How can we respond, they ask. If we reject a woman and in the process are forced to use physical force, the woman in question can claim they were beaten. And in most instances, say men, women's claims will be believed because there's a strong reluctance on the part of the law and public to accept that women would perpetrate sexual violence against men
Men who responded in Comments said they were sick and tired of being groped -- often quite painfully -- by females in settings such as clubs, for example
Men said women seem to believe all men want sex all the time and will be open to overt advances from stranger-females
On the contrary, said men. Often they just want to enjoy their evening. They have women in their lives and are just out on a night with the boys. They do not want to be physically groped by stranger-females. They do not want some woman in whom they haven't the slightest interest, groping and tugging their genitalia
So it's a fine line that's only recently been raised. Because yes, most women believe most men are there for the asking. Women think they're free to tap into this sexual source simply because they're women and because all men are supposedly desperate for any sex with anyone
The balance is shifting, it's claimed, with women becoming less inhibited and more aggressive in their search for sex
As illustration, it's common these days to learn in the media that female school teachers have basically seduced male pupils. The boys are not regarded as victims in the same way as girls, however. It's a societal double-standard that's served women well for thousands of years
As for selection boards, it's the same as employers in private and other industry. How can a prospective employer learn if the applicant sitting before them is of good calibre? The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Only experience will tell. Same with police recruits, armed service recruits, public service recruits, etc
