This man's intentions could have destroyed their culture.
Yanks are always banging on about freedom of religion.
Well surely they should be free to worship their God and live their lives free of all the modern bull

He could also have killed the whole lot of them due to their lack of immunity to simple diseases.

He was very foolish. He was trespassing where he had no right to be.
It's unfortunate he died as I don't think he meant harm to the people but he certainly could have caused it, maybe not so much by his preaching as I don't know if they even shared the same language, but he could certainly be subjecting them to germs or viruses etc that could wipe them out.
There was a news report just a few weeks back about-I think it might have been a Russian family?-where the parents retreated into a remote area to live to avoid religious persecution (this was prior to WW2). There they stayed and raised their children, but when discovered in the late 1970s, and entering society again, most of them were dead within a few years. I guess we have all heard of Tasmanian aborigines dying in droves from introduced illnesses such as measles & even the common cold, but must admit I thought that was because they had been isolated for thousands of years. It seems you don't have to be isolated all that long before your immunity factor to general society outside is about zero.

Absolutely, many viruses, such like flu, mutate constantly and most of us become immune to this season's strain, which will protect us against the slightly mutated new version.
For a long time doctors and scientists puzzled why the Spanish flu at the end of WW1 killed so many young strong people while many older people survived. Apparently it was found that the Spanish flu was related to weaker strain that swept through some 40(?) years earlier, and therefore everybody who was alive then developed some degree of immunity.

Not to mention the island is a territory of India and entry is prohibited. Why do Americans think they have the right to go anywhere they want? Just like the guy who ended up dead after going to Korea, when the USA prohibits it's citizens to go there, or they did back then.
