Are We Descending Into Barbarism?

An Australian socialist group has withdrawn newspapers depicting Tony Abbott getting his throat cut by a straight razor.

The grisly Red Flag cover, which was accompanied by the headline "One cut we'd like to see, attracted more than 200 comments – most of them negative – on publisher The Socialist Alternative's Facebook page overnight.

"Oh ... not cool. I'm no fan of the LNP — policies, parties, associates or leader — but this seems unnecessarily violent," one post read.

Another said: "dreadful picture. DO NOT CONDONE violence to anyone. Even Abbott. You LOST me off this page and as a supporter."

The group released a statement this morning defending the Michael Callaghan-inspired cover, but said "legal concerns" meant they would be withdrawing it all the same.

This is not about the previous government.

It suits the left to trot out Ms Gillard to make a comparison, yet when the right do similar they're told not to live in the past, that we've moved on.

What's with the left, right or in between, I don't subscribe to that garbage, however IF I choose to make a compasion, I will ...... Abbott was great at dishing it out, now he has to cop it.  Unless I am very much mistaken, Abbott and his regime are continually referring to the previous governement lol
