Want to see why the Germans have a positive trade balance, in spite of paying workers some of the highest wages in the world?
Watch this: It is truly incredible...

Sorry Icy.....but I agree with am3 on this issue. Sure, the Germans had a reputation for making stuff to a very high standard in the past. This is changing due to labour costs. They outsource like everyone else so as to keep making a profit. Standards/quality of manufacturing are slipping or factories are closing.
I don't disagree that some are on high wages but costs of living, buying houses/food etc leaves Germany as a more expensive place to live than Australia?

The German industry leads the world in innovation and productivity. The Huff houses they are exporting along with the crew to erect them is incredible.
I love Germany, have been there a few times, the people are great. They are a proud people who have had to exist under the burden of the holocaust shame which they had no part in but will never be forgotten (as it should be).
They produc excellence.
Ship the unions over there and see how they get on, Actung unions, roust. lol
