PAEDOPHILE Dennis Ferguson chose to end his own life by suddenly stopping his diabetes medication, telling supporters he blamed police for making his life a living hell.

"This will show them," Australia's most notorious sex offender said in the days before he died at his Surry Hills flat, a Department of Housing property on Poplar Ave, a stone's throw from Sydney Grammar and other schools and childcare centres. His body laid undiscovered for several days before being found last Sunday.

Ferguson's biggest advocate, the Justice Action group campaigner Brett Collins, says police continuously "undermined" the 64-year-old's efforts to redeem himself and tipped off media about his whereabouts on at least two occasions.

"He said to people (when he stopped taking insulin), 'That will show them'," Mr Collins said.

"What we're saying is Dennis Ferguson was killed by the police."

...no excuse for him and his partner....but... the mother of those children left them with those 2 men, as she went to work........ abduction charges came about when she said she didn't tell them they could take them away from the home.

As I recall, he was not naked? but in his underwear, as were the children. She knew who they were.

Now, maybe I am not so trusting but....would you leave yours with them??

and.....he met the father of those children in prison, who then told him his children had been victims of sexual assault...(not sure byt maybe by him?) and he gave details to Ferguson so he could befriend them.

Scum.... all of them.

In an ABC transcript interview I just read DF said he was naked & about to get in the shower when the police burst in.  He claimed he had no idea that the girl was naked at that particular time.

Whether the mother knew what these men may have been capable of and shouldn't have left her children with them, I doublt whether she would ever have imagined/thought they would abduct them and take the children from Sydney to Brisbane.

I have read the court transcript but can't recall details as it was so long ago.

According to the subsequent testimony of the children's mother, Ferguson first met her some time in late June 1987, just after he was released from Long Bay Jail, where her husband was serving time after having been convicted of sexually molesting his own children.

Ferguson allegedly introduced himself both as a friend of her husband and as a social worker, and began to win her trust by buying her such things as a new washing machine, clothes dryer, stove and waterbed.

If the police version is to be believed, it demonstrates, in Justice Derrington's words as he sentenced the prisoner, that he "planned and embarked upon a complex plan to have these young children in your power and under your influence for a period for your extended perverted sexual gratification with them . . . you found out from their father whilst he was in jail with you of the fact that they were already sexually abused children and you took advantage of this in the most cunning and contrived way".

Its only a shame that he didn't top himself off a couple of decades ago.  Nobody cares about the death of a dirty old pedo.

yes, so I am wondering why anyone would worry if the Island thing was a going concern.... and one was murdered... as was mentioned.

No need for police, or guards....... just a place to live, safe from those who don't want them in the neighbourhood,  no access to children.....they live there.... forever.

No doubt some are chefs, electricians, tailors, plumbers, teachers..........
