Time to move on

Every election time sees the Lib and Lab supporter on here having a go at eachother, but never before, on CS or the past CW board, have i seen it carry on and on and on after the election is over.

Its ridiculous.

Its done. Its over.

Let it go until the next election.

I don't like this idea. I'm loving the political threads. My favourite part at the moment is watching the libbie lovers squirm because they can't add a single (not even one, not even after three days of consideration) positive achievement from the coalition's first hundred days. Hahaha! Sorry but it cracks me up 😄

Anyway, everyone here is fair, right? So scroll back and do what I just did...count a few pages from a year ago. When we've equalled the thread count from the labor days, that'd be a good time to stop.

I am sick of it too......... but I sometimes read them and sometimes post on them.............. other times I scroll on by............. many topics don't interest me, so there I do the same.

DDB has often expressed her dislike for the political threads and if I recall correctly, wanted a separate board?

How many threads would there be if no political ones were on here?

very few I suspect.

am, all that went on in the countdown to the election. As it does every other time and election is on.

In the past, the election ends and then the political threads slowly dwindle away until the next election.

Not so this time

I beg to differ.

Before the election was even on the horizon there was a plethora of anti-Gillard/Labor threads. Numerous threads, mainly copying and pasting done by the same few posters.

It went on for months and months before the election even happened.

Proving the point its been going on for waaaaaaay too long. I'd rather have the games threads back Smiley Embarassed

Yay I want the games threads back as well!

Fancy banishing the harmless games thread into exile and then swamping the CS  with political discussions!

Politiics should have it's own board!

Make it happen pls Mods of Lithium!

Frankly Karen, it cracks me up that lab luvvies can't find a single positive thing to post about their own party, and have to seize on negatives from the WINNING party, I repeat WINNING, party to console themselves.

Ho ho ho that really cracks me up! Smiley Very Happy

JMK: " they can't add a single (not even one, not even after three days of consideration) positive achievement from the coalition's first hundred days."

Again JMK, the first day finally saw the end of the ubiquitous  Poor Me and  Ruddy circus act that had managed to reduce the ALP, over years,  to a bunch of infighting factional opportunists.  No longer do we have to see staged nonsense  such as Poor Me knitting a toy kangaroo for an antipodean royal baby, and recently  the debt ceiling has been abolished,  which is  a good move if the profligate spending of the ALP circus was as understated by them as has been indicated.

However I do understand the traumatic PPTSD you must be suffering JMK et-al, and  do realise the necessity for some cathartic posts to ease your pain.

This also applies to Tony Abbott /LNP supporters pre election 2013... they seized on the negatives from the Winning party( Labor) to console themselves.

It is widely accepted Tony Abbott led a negative and aggressive campaign as the Oppostion leader and his supporters were encouraged to do the same.

Are you annoyed DB that this thread has now turned totally political?

Sorry I just cant help but quietly chuckle at the outcome here. Not laughing at you or your ideas but I think it was inevitable that a thread like this would end up in the "thick of it" so to speak.

I'm not bothered either way with political discussion.  I think political discourse is totally necessary in a "free speaking" society.

I think if you lose "good" friends from political discussion/debate even arguement then maybe they werent very good friends to start with.

I suppose the name calling is supposed to be diminuative of posters who express a different opinion ?

I am just a poster here .How I vote is not a measure of it I can post. How I post is the thing which matters .

I haven't voted in the next election ...not sure how I may vote as yet.

If I am posting about Tony Abbott and the Coalition it is quite simply that I am posting about the Government of my Country and how they are serving me.

Like any other discussion I may have online or in RL I try not to get into crazy or offensive rants when I discuss politics.

The topic isn't the problem .
