hahaha I forgot to put in the It's all good richo.
I have a slow cooker. Love lamb shanks in it and I also have a slow cooker recipe for a bolognaise sauce that is to die for. Casserole type thingys I do in it . I mostly use it on days when we are both at golf all day so I don't have to worry about cooking anything after we get home.
The beef cheeks though were pure slow oven and cook top. I cut them up into about 2-3" chunks.

Mates reckon a slow cooker is the go.
Never had any success with cooking -"redgum"-silverside.
Roasted a bit by mistake once--a failure lol.
Bit worried about using one because i live in an old flat and the wiring
is not the best.---if im not home............Richo.

If you're going to have to be there to supervise the electrics anyway I can't see the point of a slow cooker. You might as well just use a slow oven or very low heat on the cooktop.
I see the only real advantage of the slow cooker is that I can go away and not worry about it - obviously not an option in your case.
Save your money.

Lurker-right on.
I survive using an electric frypan for weekends roasts and a frying pan on the gas top during the week.
It was the novelty of the item -that made me think about it.................Richo.
