Tony Abbott is the Prime Minister so get used to it

Much of the political and media comment over the weekend suggested that quite a few Australians want Tony Abbott's ''stop the boats'' policy to fail. Not because they support people smugglers or because they are sympathetic to the Indonesian government. But because they have yet to accept the reality that Tony Abbott is prime minister and that his election-winning policies might work in government.
the Q&A program has its uses. If only in demonstrating how out of touch ABC producers and audiences are with the majority of Australians who have just elected the Coalition to one of the biggest victories in Australian political history.
Currently Labor, with the support of quite a few journalists, maintains that Abbott's ''stop the boats'' policy has failed. Yet, according to available statistics, there has been a reduction in unauthorised boat arrivals of 75 per cent since the Coalition was elected and Indonesia has accepted two out of four boats turned back by Australia.
Which suggests that the Abbott-has-failed line is premature at best and probably based on wish-fulfilment.

Tony Abbott is Prime Minister for now... just because you are elected PM for a 3 year term. doesn't mean you will always serve that whole term.. might be leadership challenges.. next week, next month, next year!!

Why didn't Tony Abbott sort out the turn back the boats issue with Indonesia BEFORE he sprouted to one and all I will stop the boats, turn back the boats (when it is safe to do so). That would be the normal way of approaching such an important issue.

LL: "he'll he out on his ass at the end of this term. the reality is hitting home sufficiently to render him a one termed . get used to that."
Come on LL, , whilst you might fantasise, hope, wish, plead, beg, why not wait for a year, or until 6 months after the new senators are ensconced.
As for your prediction, like this one I would suggest apropos Cory Barnadi:
"I guess we will find out when Abbott gives him a ministry position John"
Waiting, waiting !!
