A reminder of the debt that Australia has, while Labor can bury their heads and deny it exists the fact remains we have a huge problem with debt and sooner than later the chips will fall, no business, no state and no country can keep operating in the red, eventually those we own the money to will own us. Who will own us?
The state of Qld has debt of $80 billion dollars, Labor are saying they don’t think it’s that bad, Bill Shorten on Australia’s debt, there is no debt crisis, there is a crisis and we are in this situation because of Labor, no one else and the bottom line is Labor can’t fix this problem, their speciality is creating debt not fixing debt.

Do you mean ABC, the national broadcaster that keeps people informed during fires and floods?  ABC, the national broadcaster which research (more than once) has proved to be not biased?  The same ABC that regularly features guests from the IPA, mining lobby groups and the Liberal party?

CEC hardly any members, affilated with a US crackpot - not a reliable source of information re Abbott Govt and the economic state of Australia.

Does Tony Abbott have much support from his MP's/ backbenchers today? Will he last another week as PM? I don't think so.

Haven't seen anyone posting lefty propaganda from dubious sources..

The ABC is is also bloated, uses 3 people when 1 could do it
and only has people from those groups on because they have to.

Not biased ? When the investigator is from the Bent BBC,
of course they are going to find them not biased ?

The same one that you lot want shielded from any budget cuts to it's budget.

yes, I think the ABC has a few more than 500 viewers Am, so there must be something credible about it  Woman LOL

and as Glee has said for all the bagging of the AbC that comes from the hard right, led by the libs and murdoch, it is used for invaluable emergency services, can't beat that one surely lol

Opposition treasury spokesman Joe Hockey stated unequivocally on Lateline (23 August) that the ABC will not be privatised but any “waste” in the organisation will be cut. One of Hockey’s “waste” items was the ABC managed Australia Network, which transmits into South-East Asia. Murdoch initially won the contract but had it taken off him by a Labor government.

We know the left hate with a passion, the truth is they hate themselves they also hate their country.

Australia needs to get behind our Prime Minister, the media attacked him for three years before he was elected that is not going to change. The primary reason why the left hate him is his policy on securing our borders.

Seldom has a prime minister taken office burdened by such low expectations as those loaded on Abbott. Once this might have been regarded as an advantage, a c...hance to surprise the electorate on the upside, as indeed Abbott tried to do. Here are just a few of the Abbott government’s accomplishments, in no particular order:

• Electricity bills have fallen by 10 per cent, the biggest drop ever recorded.

• Jobs have been created four times faster than in the period before Abbott came to power and the economy is growing at 2.7 per cent.

• Peak debt has been sliced by $150 billion.

• People are still dying to come to Australia but no longer die on the way.

• The live cattle trade is running again and the price of cattle has gone through the roof; ditto sheep and dairy cows.

• The free trade agreement with Japan has cut the price of Mazdas, Subarus and Toyotas by up to $1000.

• Roads are being built and fuel, despite the return of petrol excise indexation, is cheaper in real terms that it has been since 1998.

One could go on, but the Abbott-haters have made up their minds; to them the bloke is un¬electable, even though, self-evidently, he is electable.

How would psychologists explain this reaction to a leader who is barely 16 months into the job and displays the instincts of a genuine reformer?

A lot of the so called extra staff are in regional and remote areas and are the only broadcasting voices in those areas.

Like other broadcasters as times and technologies change so do workplace numbers. Old jobs go and new jobs emerge.  A lot of work can be done from home these days that would in the past have required a fully equipped studio.

The hard right want to be rid of it because Murdoch wants to rid us of it.  He wants to be the one in control of all broadcasting.  Like a James Bond villian, he wants to rule the world.

We don't want to get rid of it.

We want to cut it down to size a bit, where it should be.

It's too expensive for what it is.

Liberal Backbencher Angus Taylor says a leadership change will not fix the problem and he is 100% correct. People don’t want to contribute to helping their country anymore they want everything for free, they have a sense of entitlement they really don’t deserve.

When they recover from the sense of entitlement and reach pension age the generation they will expect to keep them won’t exist, you can’t milk the system for ever sooner or later the well runs dry.

Australia has a huge debt and when people wake up that it’s not going to pay itself off we may get somewhere. We also need to realize that Labor have no hope of paying off this debt, their speciality is creating debt not fixing debt.
