A reminder of the debt that Australia has, while Labor can bury their heads and deny it exists the fact remains we have a huge problem with debt and sooner than later the chips will fall, no business, no state and no country can keep operating in the red, eventually those we own the money to will own us. Who will own us?
The state of Qld has debt of $80 billion dollars, Labor are saying they don’t think it’s that bad, Bill Shorten on Australia’s debt, there is no debt crisis, there is a crisis and we are in this situation because of Labor, no one else and the bottom line is Labor can’t fix this problem, their speciality is creating debt not fixing debt.
Solved! Go to Solution.

The new Premier is spending a billion dollars on stopping the East West link being built. He is also introducing a Carbon Tax for Victoria, Daniels is working for the UN, once again Victoria comes last.
that billion dollars should come out of LNP funds, they were the ones who put together and signed a 'secret' letter' of compensation to the east/west link consortium just a few weeks prior to the election they knew they were likely to lose... no respect for the Victorian people at all, it seems more like vindictive pay back to Victoria because they were voted out. Carbon tax? I'm OK with that. we haven't seen any prices of anything go down here, certainly didn't see the $550 abbott promised every household
I wasn't too sure about Andrews at first but I do admire the way he's stood up to Abbott's bullying I hope he keeps doing more of the same
I expect that the LNP will retain NSW with the loss of a few seats a 10% swing against them is what's currently been forecast.
victorias utilities have already been privatized, you won't see prices come down. instead, your money wil be going overses to companies that do not put any of it back into maintaining 'poles and wires"

Premier Denis Napthine wants to block a move by power companies to increase electricity bills in Victoria, saying it would be a "travesty" if improving the safety of powerlines in bushfire-prone areas led to higher costs for households.
Electricity distributors Powercor and AusNet Services are being charged extra income tax after receiving State Government grants to replace power lines in bushfire-danger zones.
Both companies have applied to the energy regulator to pass on the $14 million in extra costs to their customers.
Dr Napthine told Fairfax Radio such a move would be unacceptable.
"It would be a travesty if money that the taxpayers of Victoria have given to power companies to make powerlines safer [led to price rises] ... they shouldn't have to be taxed on that," he said.
"I think this is something that needs to be sorted out with the tax office and the Federal Government."
The Premier raised the issue with Federal Treasurer Joe Hockey this morning.
Shortly before going into the talks, Dr Napthine said he would try to block the move.
"It just seems ridiculous that when the State Government gives taxpayers' money to the power companies to help them make power lines safer across Victoria following Black Saturday, that they have to pay tax on it," he said.
"They're then seeking to get power price rises as a result. I mean that is a nonsense and we need to fix it."
After the meeting Dr Napthine said Mr Hockey made it clear that there was no justification for a price rise based on the increased infrastructure funding from the state.

When John Howard was Prime Minister he didn’t have social media to contend with, imagine a Prime Minister without Facebook or Twitter. Mr. Howard had to deal with the lying left but left and lies are part of life when you have a Labor party.
John Howard was way behind in the polls when he went to the elections in 1998 and 2001, and if one was to compare Kim Beazley to Bill Shorten, Kim would come out... looking like a saint.
The people of Australia don’t want to see illegal boats floating back into this country, they don’t want to be paying for a Carbon Tax that benefits the UN, and more importantly they don’t want to be living under the constant threat of a terrorist attack. The only government that can control these issues is the present coalition government.
Because some uni student can start a storm on Twitter with a 140 characters and manage three thousand tweets doesn’t mean they are going to brain wash people who want what’s right for Australia.
Of course Prime Minister Tony Abbott will pull his party back, the whole circus thus far has all been fabricated by the media. People who care did take some time out when they realized there were some issues happening and right away things started to turn around.

So why the need to send out press releases attacking his opponent so often?
This one hasn't even got the name of the author attached.

Mr Abbott was in the audience, but did not address the launch.
Opinion polls and internal party polling have suggested the unpopularity of the Liberal Prime Minister will cost Mr Baird and his team some votes.
Mr Baird thanked him for coming.
"What a pleasure it is to stand here in front of a friend of mine, the Prime Minister Tony Abbott," Mr Baird said.
Speaking after the launch, Social Services Minister Scott Morrison said it was not unusual for Mr Abbott not to speak.
"Like myself, we were here as fellow New South Welshmen and proud members of the NSW division of the Liberal Party and to be here to support Mike," Mr Morrison said.
He played down any impact federal issues would have on the NSW poll.
"This state election I think has been very firmly focused on the issues for NSW and Mike Baird's set out a very clear plan for the people of NSW and they have a track record of delivering," Mr Morrison said.
The launch was also attended by former prime minister John Howard, former NSW Liberal premiers Nick Greiner, John Fahey and Barry O'Farrell.
Those attending the launch were handed decks of cards, with instructions on how to play a game called "Poles and Liars".
Opposition Leader Luke Foley featured as the Joker in the deck.
Now that's what I call satire
