A reminder of the debt that Australia has, while Labor can bury their heads and deny it exists the fact remains we have a huge problem with debt and sooner than later the chips will fall, no business, no state and no country can keep operating in the red, eventually those we own the money to will own us. Who will own us?
The state of Qld has debt of $80 billion dollars, Labor are saying they don’t think it’s that bad, Bill Shorten on Australia’s debt, there is no debt crisis, there is a crisis and we are in this situation because of Labor, no one else and the bottom line is Labor can’t fix this problem, their speciality is creating debt not fixing debt.

Is anybody going to watch the Killing Season series on ABC?  There has been so much written about it and a few books published I'm wondering why the ABC felt the need to expose it all again.

I watched a traller with Mr Rudd and it was very scary to see his deep seated problems exposed, no wonder Miss Gillard was afraid of him.

This woman's crusade against the government is  dangerous.  Her tenure is untenable to the government and there surely must be something that can be done about her, short of dismantling the HRC altogether.

Her comments are so hostile and pointed it's clear she has  destroyed her position and has made her remaining tenure  a political witch hunt.

The federal government says its $4 billion blueprint for the future of the farming sector will make Australian farmers more competitive on the global stage.

The long-awaited agriculture white paper, released today, revealed measures to provide drought assistance and tax concessions for farmers and investment in infrastructure, including half a billion dollars for dams.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott says the paper serves as a reminder that the $51 billion sector will be crucial to Australia’s future once the strong emphasis on mining fades.

“One day the coal will have been dug up, the gas will have been extracted, but we will always need food and our land forever,” Mr Abbott told reporters in Warrnambool, in southwest Victoria. Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce defended the six-month delay in releasing the paper, describing it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make a difference to farming families.

The paper was an investment in their dignity, he said.

“We are a nation and people of vision. We are not scared of taking the next step.” The paper commits up to $250 million in drought concessional loans for farmers each year for 11 years.

There is also $500 million for a national water infrastructure fund to improve dams and to plan for new projects.

The document also confirms the appointment of a new umpire within the competition regulator to help farmers settle supply disputes with supermarket groups.

Liberal MP Dan Tehan said the measures would provide farmers with financial flexibility during wet and dry years, enabling them to compete with other countries.

“In a globalised world, we need our farmers as competitive as possible,” he told Sky News.

Opposition agriculture spokesman Joel Fitzgibbon said the paper was a disappointment and had no big-picture vision for the future. It did not address climate change or measures around skills and technology, and put road blocks in the way of foreign investment, he said.

Some measures were deliberately inflated by including money that would be contributed by the states or committed earlier in the federal government’s Northern Australia white paper, Mr Fitzgibbon said.

“We need to look at what farming is going to look like in the future,” he told Sky News.

The National Farmers’ Federation said the measures would unveil big benefits for farmers, creating a stronger business environment and generating better returns. AAP

Vision and the political will to forge ahead.

A refreshing change from the navel gazing, backstabbing  6 years labor was in.

They left no legacy, just a foul taste in  the mouth, a loss of faith in the political system and billions in debt.

A country riven with class and gender wars and now labor are faced with the worst possible candidate for leader, Plibberseck, the moves are on.

AUSTRALIA will move to immediately suspend the importation of a new “fast and furious” $800 shotgun that threatened to undermine gun laws introduced after the Port Arthur massacre.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s dramatic intervention will stop 7000 Adler lever-action shotguns entering Australia. The imports will be suspended for at least six months, until the National Firearms Agreement review process is completed.

The review, which was initiated after the Lindt cafe siege, may yet decide to ban most shooters owning the Adler by placing tougher restrictions on the class of shooter that can buy the weapon.

Described as a “game changer” by gun enthusiasts, the Adler A110 can fire eight shots in eight seconds using a lever-action mechanism.

It has sold out in thousands of pre-orders across Australia with shipments set to begin from August.

Clayton Firearms billed the Adler A110 20 model as being “tailor-made for fast and furious pig shooting from the bike, quad or all terrain vehicle”.

Justice Minister Michael Keenan stressed that the decision to suspend imports was not about targeting law-abiding gun owners but reflected the heightened terrorist threat in Australia.

Good government is a government that doesn't broadcast their achievements or successes every day they just get on with it.

Who can ever forget the daily and even thrice daily "announcements" from Gillard and the NSW Labor Govt and the failures of those very same announcements just days later.

The failure of Labor to secure our borders and allowed 50,000 economic illegal immigrants tin at a cost to the Australian taxpayer of over 10 Billion dollars and counting and all the time they lied to us about it.

The Abbott govt is just getting on with it and the Labor party are doing what they always do, gender politics, class warfare, union thuggery and populist politicking that holds no interest for the working families of this country.

The govt is going to stop pouring billions in subsidies to wind farms. Wind is not an emerging technology, why is it being subsidised.

If it can't operate without billions of hand outs then it's  rent seeking at its worst.

PM Abbott is going to have a proper investigation of "perks" of politicians and tighten up the entitlement and waste. About time I say, they all do it and it's a disgrace.
