A reminder of the debt that Australia has, while Labor can bury their heads and deny it exists the fact remains we have a huge problem with debt and sooner than later the chips will fall, no business, no state and no country can keep operating in the red, eventually those we own the money to will own us. Who will own us?
The state of Qld has debt of $80 billion dollars, Labor are saying they don’t think it’s that bad, Bill Shorten on Australia’s debt, there is no debt crisis, there is a crisis and we are in this situation because of Labor, no one else and the bottom line is Labor can’t fix this problem, their speciality is creating debt not fixing debt.

Oh dear, whoever would have thought he would last less than 18months before he was hit by a challenge to his authority.

Couldn't have happened to a more deserving person.

Tony Abbott has majority support for his position.

I'm really surprised that it even came to this, a few disgruntled back benchers who have now wounded a PM trying to drag the country out of the looming headwinds that are heading our way.

After the debacle and viciousness of the Labor years, the total destruction of Labor, I hope the back benchers are finished and the spectre of Turnbull is put to bed for good.

The only people who really want this entitled puffed up ego is the left of politics.

Abbott knew before he went into the meeting that he would win.

He knew at the Church Service this morning, so did Bishop and Turnbull.

9:23am: This is not a good result for Mr Abbott.

He retains the leadership but 39 MPs (out of 101 who were present) have cast what is essentially a vote of no confidence in him.

This means the leadership issue is far from resolved.

I think the spectre of the Labor fiasco,  the relentless vengeance Rudd plotted against a sitting PM, the hatred and toxic atmosphere that surrounded the Labor years, which eventually ruined the Labor party is a sage warning to the few who started this.

Maybe now he can get on with the repairs and reforms this country so desperately needs.

As if, lol

9:30am: Labor will be thrilled about this result.

The Opposition has been coasting with Mr Abbott as Prime Minister.

Now Labor has the situation of continuing to confront an unpopular prime minister and knowing the government's leadership problems will continue.

The media blew this out of all proportion as though Abbott was a goner, until this morning when the cards were looking the other way.

The problem was, You fell for all the hype.

You might not like Abbott but that doesn't mean a lot in the scheme of things.

I kind of get what she's saying though. This will make the ALP redouble their efforts to block Mr Abbott at every turn and make it as difficult for him to govern as they possibly can.

We saw how toxic they were within their own party.

Watch out Mr Abbott the gloves are off.
