A bit of sad news for those who enjoyed ACP:
A Country Practice castmates have paid tribute to the beloved actor who passed away on Sunday aged 91.
Jacobs, who played the town gossip Esme Watson, had battled Parkinson's disease for more than a decade.
Lorrae Desmond, who shared a dressing room with Jacobs, said the actor had a truly generous spirit.
"She didn't have a mean bone in her body and never once said a bad thing about anybody," said Desmond, who played Shirley on the show. "We stayed friends forever which I'm grateful for, and if heaven exists, it's going to be much richer."
But Desmond said Jacobs had been quite ill for some time and had been devastated by the loss of her husband Ian, to whom she had been married for 64 years.
"It was one of the best marriages I'd ever seen and I don't think she ever came to terms with not having him around anymore."
Desmond has been asked by the family to give a speech at her funeral on Friday at
aged care facility Goodhew Gardens in Taren Point, Sydney
.
Brian Wenzel, who played policeman Frank Gilroy, said he was saddened by the news.
"It was a bit of a shock," he said. "She was a terrific lady, nothing like her character whatsoever. Joyce has now joined the other two musketeers, Syd Heylen (Cookie) and Gordon Piper (Bob), who have passed on."
The cast gave the trio the "three musketeers" nickname because they shared so many scenes together over the years.
Tributes for the iconic Australian actor have started to flow in on Twitter.

That's sad. RIP.
I never watched the show but the hospital I used to work at used to have A Country Practice filming at the weekends. They would use the ward that was closed and the operating theatres which were closed over the weekend.
Used to borrow equipment from time to time.
Once I had someone ring and ask for some cream to put on a character's hand when they were injured and it had to be a cream that was easily visible to the camera
