We had a whopping 267mm of rain overnight on Fri and in the early hours of Sat morning.

It took everyone by surprise and we woke up to flooding and road closures.

We all wanted the rain, but not dumped on us like that!

I heard there was flash flooding in a few places up North... it did catch a lot by surprise as we have been so dry....

it is nice to have some rain though but I am not looking forward to the humidity.

It's already quite humid up here, Catmad. Has been for a few weeks.
Slept well during the deluge, apart from the huge claps of thunder, as it was the coolest night in ages.
We were unlucky I think as the dumping of rain coincided with a high tide so there was nowhere for the water to go.
I do wonder, as always, what this wet season will bring.
