Why do people care what other people do regarding their personal romantic and sexual lives?
How can what other people do in this regard, affect us personally? How can I be adversely affected by anyone else who chooses to marry someone of the same sex?
What is all the fuss about?

It would be interesting to see just how many people take advantage of the new laws.

i know my partner and I will marry once we can and I have other friends who will also. myself and my partner have been together nearly 18 years as have one set of friends and others have been together long term also. it would be no different to heterosexual couples in that some see marriage as important and some don't. it will just be wonderful when we have the choice to make.

Legalising same sex marriage will not make any difference to me personally, but it will make me happy to see that my gay friends will be finally able to get married. And it is so sad to see how far behind other countries Australia is. And considering that the vast majority of Australians support same sex marriage legislation, I wish it got just passed.

When will he challenge Mr Abbott?
That is the question.
