I thought that buying extra entries would improve the odds markedly.
When I realised the actual math it startled me. I guess you just assume
something and don't bother thinking too hard about it.
No more bone headed behaviour on my part.
Minimum autopick will be my maximum.

I used to buy a Tatts Keno ticket once a fortnight letting the computer choose the numbers. The most I ever won was $355. Mind you that was back in the days when an electricity bill was around $100 so it was a lot of money to win at the time. I liked the fact that with a quick pick ticket three games were Spot 10s and if you got none of the numbers in one of those games you got $5....which could pay for your next ticket.
Then Intralot took over Keno, and completely changed the game to such an extent I stopped buying tickets after the first one.
After that I only bought Lotto tickets for the Superdraws. The only prizes I won were minor ones - and that rarely happened.
Since I am housebound I have looked at buying a Lotto ticket online but something stops me from proceeding. I've never felt it's been my fate to win a big prize I guess. I miss the old Tatts Keno though as the chances of winning smaller prizes was quite good with a mixed Spot game ticket.

That Keno was once easy to sit down and follow.
I played whenever I went to clubs.
Not sure if it's because I am much older now because it
has been quite some time since I last played and now the
numbers just seemed to fly on past.
Have they sped it up to squeeze in more games ??

Basically, what it comes down to is that the chances of winning the big one are very slim, whether you buy one ticket or several. So the best thing to do is decide beforehand how much you want to spend in a little flutter, make sure it is affordable, not money you can't afford to lose, then just stick to that. Don't get carried away, it's not a superannuation scheme.
All gambling is loaded in favour of the operators, for them to make a profit, and if you keep spending with them, you will reliably lose (unless you happen to be that rare person who does win a big jackpot).
I used to run the Lotto syndicate at work. It was a bit of fun. S1 a week for those in it. We spent about $35 a week on set tickets-which is a fair amount of money-and in 20 years never won above Div 3. And that only once.

Yeah, that's about the size of it. You could have gone on for another 10 years and never seen anything above Div 3. But it probably helped the weeks go by quicker with something to look forward to on the draw night.

I`m not really into lotto but have a few tickets now and then.. I lashed out the other week and become part of a syndicate, and the draw date is Sat week, but with my luck I am not very confident ,BUT ,you gotta be in it to win it hey!!lol

Hey why not! And if by chance your syndicate wins you'll be one of a happy bunch of folks.
