Judging by the lack of response to this thread, it appears not to be anything worth worrying about.
Investigation begins as anti-nuclear campaigners slam company
Federal Environment Minister Greg Hunt has ordered an immediate clean-up and investigation.
A spokesman for the Minister said the leak has been contained and will have no impact on Kakadu National Park.
Well of course he'd say that.
The Northern Territory Environment Centre is calling for an immediate halt to operations at the mine.
The centre estimates around 1 million litres of acidic radioactive material spilled from the processing tank.
ONE MILLION LITRES OF ACIDIC RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL SPILLED! And this is close by an ecologically sensitive NATIONAL PARK!
Anti-nuclear campaigner Lauren Mellor said it is the third safety breach by the ERA in a month.
Whaaaat?
"Just within this month we've had an incident where a controlled vehicle was able to leave a secure area of the mine and was halfway down the Arnhem Highway before it was located.
"We've had four barrels found in the Rural Area in Darwin, four barrels used to transport uranium were discarded with no explanation."
And they're still ONLY CALLING for an immediate halt to mining operations!
Jeez!

Of course it's worth worrying about. But . . it's not as if it were anything unexpected.
There was plenty of concern about safety and the risk of environmental contamination long before this project went ahead.
And now it's happened. as expected.
it's not much use bemoaning that the horse has bolted when the stable door has been left wide open.
Now, who's for having a nuclear power plant built in a city near you?
Nuclear power is safe and clean, after all.
Well, isn't it?
