Probably not the right grammar in the title. Grammar police are welcome to correct me. What's the verb for to Graffiti?
Anyway.
Vandals have brought a loaded Sydney train to a halt so they could graffiti a carriage.
Frustrated passengers watched on helplessly as three masked men carried out the brazen 10-minute attack.
The city-bound train came to an unscheduled stop near Granville station and three vandals began their work.
Passengers, locked inside the carriages, could do little but film the three men.
One passenger said: "I think for our safety we were quite happy the doors were remaining closed, they did look not the friendliest bunch let's put it that way."
The vandals had their way for ten minutes, even stopping to take photos of their handiwork. Angry passengers urged them to unmask themselves.
Police are investigating how the men stopped the train in what is uncomfortably close to a hijacking.
Opposition leader John Robertson said: "It raises real questions about the security on our rail network and what the government's doing to ensure that we don't see trains stopped by people who shouldn't have access."
Howard Collins, of Sydney Trains, added: "Once these people are caught we expect the full force of the law because it is very serious to stop and actually interrupt and stop the rail services."
The damage to the train was costly and the potential damage the the rail network is huge.
It's a worry when a bunch of hoodlums can get into a rail security system and stop a fully loaded train of civilian passengers. Sends a loud and clear message to anyone intent on terrorism doesn't it?
