Visiting Christchurch

We've been to NZ a couple of times, first was a couple of weeks before the last big earthquake and second time was March this year.

On;y saw Christchurch the first time-absolutely beautiful city. Lots of quaint buildings, but some of the little wooden ones, not sure if they would still be there.

If you have time,w alk down to the Botanic gardens, they are lovely and you can get a little boat ride along the river there.

We found the museum (which is right near the gardens) was also well worth a look.

On our second trip we went via cruise ship and stopped in Akaroa. What a great little town. It's a couple of hours out of Christchurch(at least) but if you have the time, consider a drive there for a few hours, the mountain views are wonderful and there are some interesting little shops there plus a free shuttle around the town centre.

This is a photo from inside the botanic gardens.
