WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

I was a bit worried today because I had no power all day (doing maintenance up the pole across the road). Therefore, I had no internet. I tried to bluetooth my phone internet to my laptop, but it just wouldn't work. I haven't been doing Wordle on my phone because I like to see my "streak" on the computer. I worked this afternoon and not long got home. I got it done just in time!!!

It’s pounding down with rain here.

You would hardly believe that after line 2, there were only two possibilities for the answer. I knew that the only vowel I’d not used must be in position number x. I knew the yellow letter from line 1 must be in position number 2. That gave me 4 letters, with two remaining letter possibilities for position number 1.

Luck (and the fact that the other word was much less common and I’d be surprised to see it being used in Wordle) led to choose the right letter, and there we are.

Countess, you were up early.

My brain's still foggy. I should have got this wordle in 3 but I quickly bashed away at the first thing that came into my head on try #3, completely overlooking the yellow letter in the turn before. There were about 3 words it could have been and I almost tried a second wrong one till I realised I had already tried that last letter elsewhere. Then I thought of a third and only then noticed the yellow. The perils of doing it half asleep.
