I recently stumbled across WORDLE online. For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.
https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/
This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:
Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though). Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words. I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts. Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

This felt even better than a 52, mainly because I “solved” a particular letter early on, and it led to a mostly easy lilypad-strewn leap from one word to the next.

I went off script today as after my first turn, I could think of several words it could be, but I felt I needed elminators that would cut down on a few of the possible letters.
In hindsight, I may have been just as well or even better off to just use my usual 3.😁

I completed this one in about 10 seconds, without giving it enough thought.
I was tempted to go off script and try something different at turn 2. Glad I didn't.
After it, 2 possibilities occurred to me but one was ruled out, so I quickly went with the other.
After I did, I realised there was another possibility, but today I got lucky.

Made a few errors in octordle.
At the end, I would have done much better to have gone with solving #1, which I was pretty sure of, but instead went with #7, which I was convinced was a particular word, although there were, in my mind, a couple of possibilities. Had I done #1 first, I would have been put ona different track for #7.

The awful bone-grindingly unbearable lower back pain has thankfully subsided after heat pack and analgesic and rest. I know I did a fair amount of bending yesterday… but perhaps I twisted as well. It’s so frustrating…
So, onto Octordle.

Wow, amazing result!
mind you, Berry is the word that did me in too (along with a couple of other spots).

I can't remember.🤔
I can't even recall the answer, offhand.
And I currently cannot see your solution post, which would normally show me.
My computer often scrambles the order of posts. Well, always, on longer threads.

Back! I found your post and I see the answer was blare. That part comes back to me.
After turn 1, I had A,E and L, with the L in place. The only letter I had eliminated was N as far as likely answers went.
I am pretty sure turn 5 must have been blame and I suspect turn 4 was bleak.
Had I done my usual alien/shout/crypt, I would have bombed out on shout, which is what I suspected might happen & why I went with a different eliminator (can't recall what it was). Had I just gone with the usual 3 though, I would have had R on turn 3 which may have helped.

After my first 2 turns I had a feeling about the last 2 letters but the words ricocheting round in my head didn't fit and I couldn't think of anything else offhand so went with #3 eliminator. Suddenly, all was clear.
