WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

This abc news story has some tips for playing:

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-01-26/why-wordle-has-become-a-new-online-obsession/100782794

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

There was some luck involved; all in all, not too tricky.

On turn 3, I went with NORTH for #8, which of course was wrong, but I got it on turn 4.
But then on turn 5 I used another eliminator (fudgy) and after that it was bang, bang, bang on target but I did hold back on the first 2 words.
I thought #2 was between bagel and eagle and #1 between avian and apian. Just had to go for the last one and hope for the best.

An appalling start alarmed me. I knew I had to get down to the business of vowels, and rule out some word possibilities.

There aren’t as many words that fit the pattern as you’d think. But it was just a guess, and luck was with me.

I sometimes wonder about my mind, I really do. 😂
After my first 2 turns, I had a yellow A and O.
Hmm, what could it be. First word to occur to me was kapok. I couldn't see anything else it could be.
Then I had a little think for a bit longer and suddenly the words started coming. Maybe cobra or cargo.
Maybe major or board or vodka etc etc
By then I was pretty sure an R was in there somewhere, anyway. And maybe a B or D

So I went with board. I was surprised no R but at least I got a D out of it and suddenly my choices had been cut down, at least.
I went for vodka, in honour of my first thoughts that had featured K so prominently. Perhaps it was an omen.🤣
Nope, it wasn't, but at least the word pattern was clear.

This had pitfalls for the unwary, I felt.

I wasn't unwary but I was unsure about several so held off.

Spoiler
I used another eliminator on turn 5, I think it was. CRUMP.
It solved the dilemmas on 4 & 5 and I have to admit, they weren't the answers I had expected. I really thought #5 would end up to be chore & #4 bushy or pushy.

I made a mistake lower down on #1 (ardor instead of arbor) but the big surprise for me was #8. By the end though, I had crossed off all the possible answers. I had it down as going to be fight, that was all that was left on my list but after skiff, I knew it couldn't be. I had not even thought of tight.
