I recently stumbled across WORDLE online. For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.
https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/
This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:
Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though). Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words. I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts. Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

PS I think today's extreme contains 3 words that have been out in one of the versions of octordle just recently. One of them I am pretty sure I saw yesterday.

Caulk is infamous as, when it first appeared in Wordle, there was a huge outcry all over the internet about the word. People were outraged and upset and saying this wasn’t a word, and googling to find out the meaning.
It’s been referred to as a social class divider in some internet articles - but I consider that this is very much a specious contention.

Re shoji, I’m sure I remember kopenhagen posting about creating his own shoji design element a while back - or am I imagining it? It’s fascinating to add additional words into my “word-hoard” (ƿoɼd hoɼd).

I took this carefully as at first it seemed rather unpromising. It was tempting to try solving 3L first, as I had 4 yellows for it after my eliminator - but I held back. It was still uncertain.

Caulk/caulking has been around since Adam was a boy. Why people don't just google before complaining, I do not know. Obviously some people don't do any home maintenance chores.
No one can be familiar with every word, there are always going to be times when we are surprised.
I can't recall kopenhagen and his design element, sounds interesting though. Well, I think I can vaguely recall something, but not the word so that is a new one for me to remember now.😁 Always good to expand the vocabulary.

I was pleased with this. First turn was not off to a marvellous start but by turn 3 I was positioned to begin solving.
The hardest one for me was #1

I knew that 4R (#8) was one of a handful of words, and I used one of my favourite eliminators to confirm. I was so close to playing it without the eliminator (but I’d have guessed wrongly!) Ah well; caution paid off this time.

So many possible answers after my starter gave me yellow R, A, E. It could have been _A_ER… could have been _E_A_ with R in 1st place or last place… so I played LENDS to rule out the most obvious answers.
After my eliminator, it could have been RELAX or RELAY.

I am overall happy with this as anything under 60 is okay with me.
I was able to solve #6 easily enough on turn 3 but after that I wasn't feeling much inspiration and used another eliminator at turn 4.
Spoilerpricy.
On looking back at the board, I have asked myself if some of the others should have been worth a guess but hindsight is a wonderful thing, and I think some of them could have had multiple answers.
