WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

This abc news story has some tips for playing:

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

My first inclination after turn 2 was torte but it didn't feel right, plus if wrong, it didn't test many new letters.

So I kept thinking and came up with metro or retro, which both seemed more likely, we've seen them pop up numerous times in Octordle.

So.. I went with metro.

After that, I figured it was probably _eto_.

Ah yes, another familiar word, at last.

This one was not too bad.

Spoiler
21 cl.pngI took a risk on turn 2, but couldn't think of anything else, offhand, so just had a go.
After that, I debated whether to use shout, as S was already out. I almost chose touch but figured shout would or might help place the two tellow S's.

You win some, you lose some.

This one didn't feel all that hard but I made a mistake.

21 ex.pngUnfortunately the mistake was early on in the game, on turn 4. I tried merit and it ended up being remit, wouldn't you know it! In all honesty, remit had not even occurred to me so it is not as if I agonised over a choice though.
The really silly thing is, before I tried merit, I looked at #7 and thought-monty (as it couldn't be month), and then immediately thought, no way.
The rest was okay.

It could have been depot, often, jeton, outed, opted - but my suspicions were high that Wordle was using that detestable abbreviation which it so loves.

Apart from the fjord/sword moment, this was an elegant and straightforward Octordle. Rugby led to bench, monty led to remit. The rest fell into place without a fuss.

I'm pretty satisfied with this. I needed to use another eliminator lower down as I got stuck.

Spoiler
22 ex.pngAfter a promising start, things fizzled out a bit.

The hardest one for me to solve was #4 radii. I was trying to put that R last but wasn't coming up with anything, not did it work out in the middle. And it couldn't be radio. So I got there eventually but it took a while.
I was surprised not to uncover D in #5 as I fancied drawn more than prawn or brawn.
