I recently stumbled across WORDLE online. For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.
https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/
This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:
Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though). Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words. I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts. Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

Once again I outguessed myself. I had a few options, as I guessed where the yellow would be. I should have gone with the first one that came to mind.

I was a lot happier with this.
Any day under 60 is a bonus for me.

springyzone, your Wordle result was excellent; I hereby award you with the tricorne hat of Wordleworthiness.
🎓<- I couldn’t find a tricorne emoji so this is a stand-in.

I started with the usual suspect and I used BOILS as an eliminator based on my thinking about where that yellow letter might turn green, and what letters might separate the vowels.

I started with CATER and used BOUND as my first eliminator. I did have to make a guess with the bottom left, as it could have been the word for a larger version of itself.

The usual.
As you can see, I got little out of that starter. My first eliminator, SPOIL, gave a bit of help, but I still needed to play a second eliminator.

No tricome hats today, I am afraid.
I actually did this at some ungodly hour this morning, well after 1am anyway.
I felt I needed an eliminator at turn 3 as there were too many possibilities, so I used perky. It knocked out 3, at least!

Did this straight after wordle and it is a testament to the fact tiredness really can affect judgement. Not that the score itself is all that different from my normal offerings.
I have read though that being quite tired can cause effects rather like drinking where your judgement is impaired but you don't know it.
I started off as normal with this but my second word wasn't my usual. It was the wordle answer, by mistake.
The critical thing was I didn't even notice I had done that till half way through. I was assuming I had covered all the vowels.
Then on my 4th try. I quickly typed in a word I thought was an answer for #8, only to realise the word I chose had a letter that had been eliminated. Again, I had not noticed. Should have left this till later when a bit more refreshed but who knows, probably wouldn't have done much better! In fact I have often done much worse when feeling a lot livelier.😅

We watched last night’s episode of Michael Mosely’s sleep documentary… so the issue of exhaustion and stress affecting cognition and reaction time is very much to the fore of my mind right now!
Yes, if you’re very tired, your Wordle performance will probably reflect it. 😰💤🥱🛏️

TRACE as starter was not bad. I used PONGS as my eliminator.
