I recently stumbled across WORDLE online. For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.
https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/
This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:
Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

This abc news story has some tips for playing:

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though). Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words. I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts. Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

I've decided not to post my results every day.
Originally I was just doing the puzzles for my own satisfaction, but when everyone else starting posting their results I almost felt as if I had to post mine too, to prove that I was actually solving them.
I'll probably post them occasionally, if I happen to be logged into the community with this id at the time I'm also solving the puzzles, but not every day, and not every puzzle.
My satisfaction comes from solving them, and I really don't like feeling that I need validation or kudos from others.
I'll still look forward to seeing the great results posted here, just not always mine.

That’s the best motivation - personal satisfaction.
Mind you, I will probably still post my results… I can look back at the results over time and note changes, and of course if I don’t post before 9 pm, there’s a chance that I’ve been abducted à la that US news story…
The weirdest thing would be if I were abducted and forced to solve that day’s Wordle by the kidnappers.

I don't think anyone needs to feel compelled to post anything. The boards are for fun & relaxation, not for stress. The main ones i look at are wordle as they are easy to see and analyse at a glance. The other variations people post about, I tend to scroll through anyway.
I often do wordle unlimited with 5 or 6 games and never post them here.
Sometimes i enjoy hearing about what words people use to whittle things down. To be honest some of it comes down to luck. And the first couple of words you try.

Isn't anyone awake this morning? I'm usually one of the last to post! 😃
