WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

https://www.powerlanguage.co.uk/wordle/

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

This abc news story has some tips for playing:

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

Right after turn 2, I could see that #7 was probably either three or threw and I was sorely tempted to go with three. Pleased I left that one on hold till after I had solved #3.

It couldn’t be anything else after the eliminator, but I had quite a good start with my usual starter, anyway.

I had to be careful with this Octordle. It was not difficult as long as I didn’t rush forward into trying to solve a panel where I had insufficient information.

springyzone, I was luckier with my starter for Wordle, as I had the final green letter and the 2nd letter also as verdant as a meadow.

I used an eliminator without attempting to rule out positions of those yellow letters, and it paid off.

Two words in this Octordle reused letters ridiculously.

I just chose wisely at line 2.  Couldn't see any other word as solution after that.

After turn 1, I had E in place and could guess R might be at the end, but it was by no means a sure thing.
So I played shout then crypt, which turned out to be reasonably lucky.
Aha, cover, I thought.
Oops, must be cower. No?
I had thought of corer but thought the other 2 were more likely.

I might have done fractionally better today if I had taken the lesson from wordle on board.

Spoiler
After turn 3, it wasn't that I had no ideas but rather that there were too many choices, especially on #7 & 8. So I went with another eliminator, cyber.
It turned out to be pretty good but immediately made me think #2 could be nanny. But then I thought of dandy and later went with that. Should have realised they like to repeat letters!
cyber helped me solve #3 too, I don't think I would have guessed that word off the top of my head, had I not been given the hints.
