WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

Reasonably straight forward. Started solving on turn 3 but used another eliminator (pricy) on turn 5. It helped a lot.

By turn 3 though, I used my usual eliminator.

Made 2 mistakes along the way.
#1, foist instead of joist. What is it with these J wwords, my downfall every time, lately!
#2, was it throw or throb? Could have been either. I decided to go with throw first.

And I was not overly happy with gator as an answer on #5, although I guessed it reasonably early on. We're used to Americanisms but to me, gator is very much the slang term.

With relief, I switched to “Daily”.

Sounds like the sort of thing I would do!

My quarrel with sequence is that once I type in my first word and enter it, the word section  jumps up so that the word is now invisible. I have to manually scroll it down to see if I have any hits. Annoying.

I had an easy first word after my starter, but then needed to slash and sow with an eliminator. It was a careful process as I looked for the panels where the word had the greatest likelihood of being correct - for preference, I wanted certainty!

I did wordle yesterday on my phone and got it in 3 but didn't do the octordles as I hate the scroll and I can never seem to sort out how to post on here properly with the phone anyway.

I hope your knee is a lot better today.

I have a  sore big toe, left foot. I am hoping it goes away. I know it must be the gout. It seems to move around, sometimes fingers, sometimes a toe.😠

Even though the only letters I had were yellow, the answer was the only word I could come up with, given the location of the yellows. Maybe there were others, but in any case, my guess worked out.

I went slowly and carefully with this and made no mistakes, but after my first 2 turns, I really could not see my way clear to make a confident guess. Every single spot I looked at seemed to have several possibilities although in hindsight, maybe I should have thought of #6.

But in any case, I went for another eliminator (pricy). You really get punished score wise though unless you start solving by the third turn.
