WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

Good morning to you, too. I suppose it is good I woke up early as I have to be on the road by about 6.20am. I hate driving in the dark so I am hoping things start to lighten up slightly by then.

I don't leave to come home though till about 5.20pm so eventually it is going to be dark which ever way I swing it.

alien/steam (I do so like S and T)/space, which I really fancied, only to find it was the rather dreary spare that won the day.

I disappointed myself on this one. Despite telling myself I have to slow down and take things more carefully, I do tend to fixate sometimes on some spots more than others & overlook the obvious in other spots.

At least I didn't jump in on turn 2 and try slain for #6. I remembered trying that once before and getting it wrong. But I should not have used price on turn 6. I had left # 3 alone after my first couple of turns as it could have been stare, spate, skate, stage.. but I should have revisited after each turn.
At least i avoided a mistake on #1 as I had been thinking pushy, bushy although I think pushy just came out very recently.

Now this was more like it! I was pleased with this one.

I took a risk on #2 but thought this word slightly more likely. Though who knows, I rarely do!

My third turn was a slight risk too, in that I was tossing up flair but again, went with the one I thought of first. Then I hit a wall so used my usual shout.
I was almost ready to try gamer for #7 then realised M had been out. Why is it usually gamer.gazer in these puzzles and rarely, if ever, baker?
Anyway a bit of luck in this game but got there.

Some inspired guesswork there, springyzone!

I had no hope of equalling your 50. It wasn’t until row 3 that I started solving. Even then, I don’t think my solving was as inspired, because I’d ruled out pivotal letters more laboriously.
