WORDLE - anyone else trying the daily online word game?

I recently stumbled across WORDLE online.  For the uninitiated, it is a daily word guessing game where you have to try to guess the word in 6 or less tries.

This, from Wikipedia, explains the game:

Every day, a five-letter word is chosen which players aim to guess within six tries. After every guess, each letter is marked as either green, yellow or gray: green indicates that letter is correct and in the correct position, yellow means it is in the answer but not in the right position, while gray indicates it is not in the answer at all. The game has a "hard mode" option, which requires players to include letters marked as green and yellow in subsequent guesses. The daily word is the same for everyone. The game also has a dark mode as well as a high-contrast theme for colourblind accessibility, which changes the color scheme from green and yellow to orange and blue.

I have found that most that most days I can get the daily word in 5 tries or less (mostly 5 though).  Interestingly, there is a spinoff of WORDLE called LEWDLE, where the words are lewd, or naughty, words.  I have better success with LEWDLE than I do with WORDLE . . . getting the word in just 2 or 3 attempts.  Not sure what that says about my private school education 🤣

I didn't get on the computer yesterday but I did do wordle on my phone.

Got it in 3, would have been pretty poor if I hadn't as my second turn had every letter, just not in the right order.

I got a score of 52 but in a round about way today.

I managed to guess a word on turn 2, with fingers crossed (could have been feign, reign, but deign is what popped into my head first)
Had to use another eliminator towards the end (bumfs) to try to cut down on mound/bound/found/wound etc for #6

And it isn't my imagination. Ethos is a populat word lately.

At least I got through and after a disastrous run in the middle, I wasn't sure I would have enough turns left.

I would love to have guessed on #6 but I could see it was probably alias or alibi.
Then soon after came the disaster. I looked at #4 and thought torch. It wasn't. Then I thought, got to be worth. Was annoyed when it wasn't and thought.. what else. Could see forth at that stage but wasn't giving it the satisfaction of a 3rd try straight away.
#7 was lucky but I suspected T on the end and a 2/4 vowel pattern.

And I've done it! Managed to finish before 7am as I have to be out of here with 2 grandkids for the school run by 8!

I was more guess-driven than logic-driven; there were better eliminators. But on the plus side, the eliminator was extremely lucky and brought it down to only two possibilities.
