Community Announcement:
We have been working on updating the design and usability of the eBay community in order to enhance the experience you have here. We will roll out the update on March 24.

That is why the removed the ability for members to reply from any and all the spin monkey posts they made
First, they told people whose replies were not butt kissing praise to contact them via PM because they did not want neg comments on a public forum
And when people said no. comments and replies should be on the forum and fpr all to see, they had the right for people to reply removed
THEY know they are full of it
They just hope people here are too silly to know they are

They're full of it all right.....but there's not much (if anything) we can do about it.
Before the internet really took hold, when you wrote to a company about a change in their product (for the worst) they would reply 'We have made these changes to meet our customers requests'......or some other such nonsense. The only way you could be sure you were right and they were full of it was when the 'new improved version' soon disappeared from the shelves.
Now they remove the option of replies like eBay does, or simply delete replies they don't like.
Some companies are especially vengeful. I posted a comment online about deceptive packaging (ie lots of 'bonus air' as described on a certain ABCTV program) from a very well known overseas chocolate company. My post was deleted and I was forever blocked from their public site. LOL They are still doing it BTW....and it is worse than ever.....and funny, no one objects (or rather they probably can't).
Unfortunately so-called internet improvements are a whole difference ball game. Sometimes you can find ways and means to work around them, or delete some stupid addition you don't need or want, or restore a previous version that worked better, but I'm guessing we are screwed when it comes to this forum.

It seems if like the US - the most recent threads will stay on the front page - in order of posting - for a while there was no mention of who posted last - so a memory of post numbers was needed. LOL as if.
They ' fixed ' that - so now the last poster on the thread is mentioned again with time posted.
But threads that are continually added to - like the - music - caption - etc - will not come to the top when a new post is made - the thread will have to be searched for.
Long running threads like ' Blokes ' if like the US can be found by clicking the box - sorted by - under Forum Posts - ' most viewed '.
This is the current setup in the US - ours will probably be the same.

No wonder eBay thought they were keeping it quite til the last minute

It takes away any continuation of threads - the genius who came up with this needs a good kick in the rump.
Big time. lol

Like an place I used to be a member of
They deleted anything less than 5 star reviews (although for a little while, they did reply to poor reviews with a comment that the poster of the review was a spammer and to take no notice)
Last year, I asked a simple question on their social media page (not rude but not brown nosing either) and got an abusive message from the manager in return
They of course did not have the nads to say the same thing to me in reply to my comment on the page, which would have been for all to see
I have since left for that reason but still get phone calls asking if I am coming back
Funny buggers

Shame they did not spend a quarter as much time and energy on things that actually need fixing/changing
5 million Kudo's
Will it stop the dragging up of OLD DEAD THREADS? If so that is the only bonus I can see

I don't know if anyone who shops online at a certain supermarket that changed their payment methods, has been following on FB the angst experienced by a LOT of their regular shoppers as a consequence. Their copy and paste reply was a masterpiece in mickey mouse spin.....absolutely infuriating if you were on the receiving end of when things would go wrong.
The complaints seem to have died down a little bit and I'm wondering if gradually branches had decided to follow the lead from the supermarket that delivers my groceries.
Over a month ago and without any fanfare they simply abandoned the 'new improved service' (ha!) and went back to the old payment system. I doubt it was done originally with head office approval because when it first happened I posted a notice on FB about it (without naming the specific supermarket branch of course) and my post was quickly deleted. LOL
Pity eBay Oz can't say the same to eBay US re the forum.
