Happy to have the discussion but it maybe "clouds the palette" here?

I have spent half an hour composing that post but then the post I was replying went poof, so I had to start again, then the whole thread went poof so I had to start again. Anyway lets get back to posting photos

Lol, I'm confused, think a few posts have gone missing and think I've missed some? Anyway I'm finding this one a bit tricky, although I've participated in a few portrait workshops, I won't post those photos here without permission of the subject. My son doesn't like me posting photos of him and you don't want to see my selfies. So I'm a bit limited, but here's one, although it's not truely monochromatic I prefer it this way.

LT if you wish to achieve the effect of the first pic , add lots of contrast and lots of intensity and then desaturate (remove colour) the result
