most probably because the front  has been exposed to light more than other parts of the fridge....

Yes, it's almost certainly paint fade due to direct exposure to the sun's UV. Mine's gone much the same way after 26 years.

Yes, COLD is hard, I like the food and drink pickies. I don't have much to share so I'll have to bore you with a holiday snap or 2.

Some pics don't show the cold. This is outside of Skagway Alaska, we hired a car, went for a drive and spotted the train.

excellent observation eve, you can see a reflection of the kitchen window top right of the fridge

no freddie the fridge has always been in that position since it was near new when it was the same color

(i thought you were kidding about the smoking lol)
