Lots of reading to do, but I popped in to show cqs cat picture to my son and found the controversy. As cq took the photo he automatically owns copyright, it isn't something you have to register. The problem, especially after others have had it on the net is proving it was his original photo. (which is NOT meant to imply it isn't)
