"What Do You Call Domestic Violence".
Of course, there's always the other side to what we normally think of - a winging, abusive wife. One for whom Nothing is EVER right.

When my nefue repeatedly pulled his pants down and exposed his private part to me I called it sexual harrassment, not sure what to call him flopping it around in the refridgator. I called it the same when my mom pulled up her shirt and shook her, self at me while screaming obsenities at me. When same nefue tackeled me over a computer monitor to the floor and threw punches at my face, I called it assault. When Sheriffs Arrested me on false charges of two counts of assault and domestic violence carrying a sentense of a year and a half (6 months on each charge) Ripped off all my clothing and put me on display nude to the same men they would later throw me head first into a cell with, I called it rape. I called what the same sheriffs did at a later time, rape, robbery, tourture, assault, abduction, theft and constant abuse, fruad, and still call it that to this day.
Domestic Violence
in my best guess, would be any and all forms of abuse that takes place in the home, or where the victim lives and can't easally flee it. be it jail, a homeless shelter, ect.

I imagine there are options on how to deal in that circumstance too...
Domestic Violence is not gender specific.

My eldest stepdaughter has just gone through a domestic violence episode............she rang the police, they came and had to get a AVO against him, which he broke last weeken and is now in the local police station, as he tried to choke her..........she is seeing the police today....
Having gone through D/Abuse with my ex, ringing the police is the way to go............

I'm so sad for you, Joanie, that after the way you are treated you still defend your attackers and chose to live in the same community with them and still defend their right to abuse you.

Of course, but just for once is it possible for you to consider the violence and death experienced by women without throwing in the nagging wife BS to distract from violence against women?

I am not throwing anything in to distract from anything else.
The thread is about domestic violence. Domestic violence is domestic violence no matter what shape it takes.

That is so common, Lion, for the victim to either stay or go back with their abuser and is hard to understand but these losers know how to manipulate plus "the better the devil you know" thing happens.
Today, while I was looking for an old photo of the garden to show the gardener, I found the photos that I took of my mum's face after she was bashed by her partner. Coincidental, that I found them today. I took a series of photos over the course of a week as the bruising came out as well as took her to the doctor so that her injuries were documented, just in case she pressed charges. She wouldn't and quite often talked as if she would go back to him. He almost killed her. My poor old mum. she wasn't the best parent in the world but she was never rough or violent. Her crime was to say hello back to a neighbour. For that, she was punched in the face which resulted in her jaw being broken, she was strangled and punched in the stomach numerous times. It was only adreniline that saved her - she somehow managed to push him away. She was petites while he was a big bloke. Dreadful memories.

That's awful PH and scary. I hope that the Magistrate does more than give him a rap over the knuckles. Is your daughter getting support from a DV support service?
