What a shame

They're cutting the baby bonus, something that should not have been around in the first place.

Ummmm is this a political thread 😄

What a shame

This probably won't be very popular, bu isn't the worlds population big enough without having to pay people to populate it even further?

My Mum raised four of us with no pension, let alone a baby bonus - She did quite an old fashioned thing called 'Work'.  In those days we didn't have expensive child care....we had neighbours and relatives = extended family network, which unfortunately these days we've been regulated out of it seems.

If not, then what stops us from just minding each others kids for concessions back and forth as we did in the old days?  Even if that involves a few bucks 'donation' between friends for the trouble?

I remember us kids having our hair cut by one of mums friends in return for taking her kids on weekends while she worked.  What went around, came back around.

I never supported the baby bonus - can you tell?  Plenty of kids living in poverty already who need it more.

I don't blame anyone who took advantage of it...that's what it was there for, but wouldn't it have been better if you got that for education fees etc?

I'm with those who think the ALP's contempt for single mums is anti Labor and anti Fair Go.

Why don't they cut out the CORPORATE WELFARE to companies like GMH?

How many Billions have they pumped into an Industry who can't build cars that people wanna buy....while ignoring (ney destroying) our battling farmers?  I know, lets sell China our land so they can build the Food Bowl of Asia.  ???  What about us?

I'm perplexed over this ALP Govt.....they seem more like the Left Wing of the LNP.

I was watching Mr Swan and his speech at the Press Club yesterday and one of the fine upstanding journalists in the room asked in all seriousness was their going to be a payment given to gynaecologists to assist them with their down turn in trade when the baby bonus was finished. This bloke represented the Australian. They hire the best you know. I kept looking for his tongue planted in his cheek, but alas it didn't appear.:-p

Instead of the payment as the baby bonus it should have been vouchers for certain stores that were applicable to having a new baby. Or is that too logical.

STOP IT cue, your post has too much common sense about it. The lip lickin' libbies will frown.:-p

Safe co-sleeping for the WIN and the saving money and angst option. In my opinion and experience.

I'm sure that there are many many people with a high IQ that have next to no common sense.
