Thing is Iza most people know the law but have their opinions and you probably won't change their mind. The thread was asking for opinions and you've stated the law and that's a good thing but if people don't want to be educated or take on your opinion you really can't make them.
In my view we are supposed to protect children and these laws are in place for that very reason for the protection of children and quite frankly if I knew it was going on I'd be asking the police for advice on how to handle it out of concern for the child's wellbeing.
But thats me and I accept not everyone agrees with that view.

Bella, I thought that was how you felt from your post early on

I am thinking as a Mother ...if either the 15 or 21 yr old was mine I would be concerned. The law comes into that ,the well being of a child and the legal accountability of the 21 year old should lines be crossed.
This is a discussion.I post because I found some of the information interesting and of concern ...if they aren't to some posters here.I don't care really.Maybe the info may be of interest to others who don't even post. They were to me.

We might get some focus in this thread and more centred discussion if the op would come back and comment what they meant exactly. As it is it's all over the place and filled with
supposition. What I would like to know is what does the op mean by 'dating'? I believe it's used widely in America to mean a s#xual relationship (though could be wrong) , but didn't think it necessarily meant that here.
It's an interesting thread but I think we need to know more ?

It's about a 21 year old lady dating a 15 year old boy.
Yes it is, a very specific question (not about a 21yo male dating a 15yo girl) A specific question.
The opening post doesn't give anymore info than that. It could be a thread started to stir, it might not be.
I am pretty sure they youth/young adults of today don't call 'seeing each other/ going out with a girl/boy dating actually.
Very unlikely that a 21 yo female would try and enter a pub/bar/nightclub with a 15 yo boy, where ID is likely to be asked for.

A parent of a 21yo has no control over what the 21yo does or doesn't do. A parent could warn them, tell them they are doing the wrong thing, but the 21 doesn't need to listen.
The info posted could be found by anyone googling should they wish to look further into this issue (which they wouldnt need to bother unless they had a underage child with an older of age boyfriend/girlfriend)

Yes it could AM3, so what do you suggest we all do instead ?What would be OK by you ?Maybe we could all Just post having a go at other posters and what other posters post ? and or say things that aren't actually correct and expect others not to comment ?

Of course. However ,the parent of the 21 year old could still be concerned for them and the 15 year old child.

Opening myself to cries of hypocrisy...
I believe it is wrong. However, many would be surprised that it is "apparently" widely accepted that kids are becoming sexually active ALOT younger nowadays. From discussions with alot of teens I know the average age is 14yo (later is considered WEIRD) and oral is not considered sox. It is what we would have considered heavy petting...scary hey.
At the age of 15yo, regardles of them being 15 years and 1 day old or 15 years and 364 days old, they are under the age of consent. Legally, if there is more than 2 years age difference between participants, it is considered to be undue influence. Eg two kids underaged having sox, one 13yo one 15yo or older...legal prob for 15yo.
From what has been explained to me by the local police...if the underage person is with someone less than 2 years older than them, they really cannot do anything unless the child gives statement. They won't investigate at all. If age gap is greater, they will investigate but again unlikely able to do anything without statement from child.

That is what I posted. Did it need quoting so you could add the same thing?
