In my rural little area I have on average 18Mbps
Perhaps you should consider having Sat broardband installed under the government istallation scheme Cat.

Internet data transfer flow speed is limited to the data flow speed in the slowest link from source to destination.
100% correct...
In my rural little area I have on average 18Mbps
copper wires, flooding rain and now even tornados...
no matter what my son still finds it frustrating that he lags when playing some games... it is not our connection that is poor...it is the servers at the other end. You can give us 100Mbps and it still won't improve his gaming...
And to download his 20 gig games... they won't download faster... it is limited by Steam.. .the service he downloads from... they set the download speed so make it fair to the thousands of other people that also want to download their games...
The "Fact" is just being used to deflect from the conversation.
If we don't upgrade the network everything will just get slower. Upgrade and everything catches up.
It's probably not the servers at the other end either. They're gaming servers aren't they? They would have fast systems. The slowness is caused by servers, congestion, the ISP, the quality of network on route.
You don't know the difference until you try. Everyone who uses the 100Mbps service is very impressed. The ping improvement is enough to cheer over.

I don't think it will make an awful lot of difference what top speeds may/may not be achieved with any NBN because it will just come down to how much each person is willing to spend on their own internet needs that will determine the speed they receive, much as it does right now.
There are people willing to spend who can't get a decent service to spend on.
It's people's need for the FTTP that caused it to happen.

Sat services are for anyone who is willing to pay for them, even in the middle of a city, and the speeds vary according to how much the individual is willing to pay above the basic service.
I use Sat for everything and get great speeds, far better in fact than other people get via land based services, but I'm willing to pay the higher premiums because I do a lot of business with overseas and use Skype for conferencing as well as other things.
It's fully tax deductable for me at the end of the day too.

The Sat service I can get is very expensive... and just does not give enough download amount..
when they give everyone around me the NBN they might decide to give us a satellite service at a better price and amount but it looks like we will be stuck with what we have for at least three years.. or until they get a satellite up there for us to use...
I still don't get why towns all around get the NBN but we don't??

The simple answer to that is that they can't shout as loud about areas like yours where fewer people live as they can about towns and cities where thousands live.
It's the old political point scoring game I'm afraid.
Plus money comes into it too lol.

Sat service are not and will never be as good as fixed FTTP services.
Subsidised sat is NOT available to people who can get broadband.
Please do a speed test and post your results to compare.
perhaps your idea of fast is not the same as most people's idea of fast.

Everyone get the NBN. NBN covers the whole country.
Just because you're not on the 3 year rollout map does not mean you won't get NBN.
It covers 100% of the country.

No, you clearly have not read any facts about it.
In fact you insult Mike Quigley by making this type of BS up.
