Politics is the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich, by promising to protect each from the other. ~Oscar Am ringer, "the Mark Twain of American Socialism." I offered my opponents a deal: "if they stop telling lies about me, I will stop telling the truth about them". ~Adlai Stevenson, campaign speech, 1952.. A politician is a fellow who will lay down your life for his country. ~ Texas Guinan. 19th century American businessman I have come to the conclusion that politics is too serious a matter to be left to the politicians. ~Charles de Gaulle, French general & politician Instead of giving a politician the keys to the city, it might be better to change the locks. ~Doug Larson (English middle-distance runner who won gold medals at the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris, 1902-1981) We hang petty thieves and appoint the bigger thieves to public office. ~Aesop, Greek slave & fable author Those who are too smart to engage in politics are punished by being governed by those who are dumber. ~Plato, ancient Greek Philosopher Politicians are the same all over. I like to keep up on politics but reading it on here is an exercise in futility. All most want on here was a change of government from day one.
Politics is good, we should all take a particular interest in it but politics on here is toxic, one upmanship, hate, bias, and every other unseemly behaviour participated on here by most, not all, but most.

It is good to see people taking an interest in Poitics on CS isn't it?
I haven't seen any poster denied giving their views, if expressed in a clear concise way (without out any personal attacks on other posters in the post).
The Budget (fail) was the time I wanted to see a change in Govt. Targetting the poor, young and sick.. isn't going to keep any Govt in longer than one term. Then there is their leader... enough said.
Opinions of posters here re the incompetence of the current PM & the Govts unfair and inequitable polices are shared by many of the public as well.... look at the one terrm Govts in VIC & QLD.. the voters spoke.
