I thought it was time for another song thread.
I used to love this song heaps and heaps.
I drove my family mad with it.
When I break out into a verse....it has been known to bring a tear to my husbands eye......( probably pain)
I had forgotten all about it until our daughter posted it on Facebook today to taunt me.
We all must have had favourite songs once that we now think.....What was I thinking.
I loved this guys eyes.........

Roger Miller must be the most prolific writers of daggy songs....ever 😐

Roger has to rate very highly, thanks for posting his unforgettable tunes :^O
another suggestion would be Johnny Tillotsen. his rendition of ' Invisible Tears' is a standout daggy song imo . there are so many.

It would probably be The Tokens version of The lion sleeps tonight, I still like it (lots) :8} and I too once knew all the words to 'Billy don't be a hero'. I possibly still know all the words but I don't want to listen to it to find out :^O

i remember the words too. its etched in somwhere.. which is hard to understand, i mean why does someone recall a song they never want to hear again .. it's a bit odd.

lol, so many memories :^O
I had to listen to that star trekkin song about 20 times a day for a week when it was first released. The shop I worked for had a display in the mall right out the front of a music store and that song featured on the number 1 compilation cd at the time. They played the same cd on repeat all day, every day. I couldnt tell you any of the other songs that were on it though....that one just burned into my brain and I've never got rid of it.
I heard this one on the radio last night, Cliff Richard singing Living Doll with the help of the Young Ones.
