.........that compels people to attend major league football games at a stadium in their thousands?

In 2004โ€“05, there were 14,147 hospitalisations resulting from injuries received while playing some form of football. This represented 30.6% of all sports and leisure-related hospitalisations during this period.

Not violent well where did the injuries come from ?

14,147 hospitalisations  in a single year???

Not a very good example. 10 years old and only one year.

How many of those injuries were players, playing in a big match in a stadium?

Pepe, unlike most others, my opinions are based fact and can be verified. I am not trying to manipulate any one, i am only presenting an alternative verifiable view that anyone can either accept or reject it makes no difference to me either way.

What I have said is that there have been more injuries and fatalities attributed to football than sports involving firearms.

You are welcome to disprove that if you so wish and put a dent in my credibility

My chosen sport is like golf, a challenge against your own skills and the discipline and control for improvement.

So you'd rather watch The Wild Thing the day after an all night drinking binge grab a supporters camera and throw it at a tree? What about discipline? Surely the sight of Daly's gut hanging out as he tees off can't be a good look the sedate game of golf.

Am that figure would have gone up in the intervening time wouldn't you think?

Are you disputing the results of that study?

Players or other the injuries and fatalities were a result of footballs

if you truly were secure in your belief that gun sports are safe and the firearms pose no threat to others you would not care if others agreed with you or not.

You obviously feel the need to justify your choices and have the need for others to agree with you, or you would not have started this thread comparing apples to oranges.

100 people could die or be badly injured every day playing contact sports, that would still not have any bearing on whether or not gun sports are dangerous or desirable.

Pepe I feel no "need" to justify anything to anyone, and yes I do feel secure in the belief that my chosen sport is safer than a contact sport of any type.

I am comparing one sport to another sport, as far as injury or death is concerned, sports are either apples or oranges as you so eloquently phrased them.

So my statement stands firm target shooting is much safer than football
