What kind of juicer to buy?

Any tips? Advice?

I want something powerful, easy to clean with a large thingy at the top so I don't have to chop everything up small

What kind of juicer to buy?

I'm about this far .............. from deciding to have a gastric bypass, so I would be wasting my money if I bought a anything to pulverise food as that would defeat the purpose of the surgery.

I was thinking of trying dieting one more time and I thought if I bought tomato juice and used a very small quantity as a base and add vegies to it to help eat them, I can drink ice cold water and juices without a problem but I really have no interest in hot cooked vegetables.

I want something that keeps all the skin and seeds and pulp in the juice so that I am getting it all from the vegies.

Bump

1. Centrifugal Juice Extractors
Traditionally, this is the most common type of juicer. These typically utilize a fast-spinning metal blade that spins against a mesh filter, separating juice from flesh via centrifugal force. The juice and pulp are then separated into different containers. The problem with centrifugal juicers is that the fast-spinning metal blade generates heat, which destroys some of the enzymes in the fruits and vegetables you're juicing. The heat also oxidizes those nutrients, rendering less nutritious juice than a cold-press juicer.

2. Cold Press Juicers (a.k.a. Masticating Juicers)
These newer juicers extract juice by first crushing and then pressing fruit and vegetables for the highest juice yield. Because they don't produce as much heat, they keep more of the fresh ingredients' nutrients intact.

Bump, I hope you can go without a band. Yes, the blender was a definite temptation to that lady.

Have you tried V8 juice? It is tomato based juice with vegies all ready to drink and it tastes quite nice chilled. The original is 100% vegetable juice. They also do other blends now, but it is that one I am thinking of. Packed with nutrients 🙂

Maybe try that while you are thinking about how to make your own.
