What no one has congratulated Senator Pauline Hanson yet.
Seems Turncoat underestimated the mood of the people and that they have had enough of his dictatorship
Solved! Go to Solution.

I am intolerant of stupid, illogical, destructive opinions that do people and the planet harm pj. I had dismissed Hanson's ramblings in the past as every time she opens her mouth she displays her lack of depth, but when the post above detailing her ridiculous, dangerous stance on climate change appeared I was so disgusted I let it be known. It behoves all of us to become informed on the facts of the situation and I doubt she has ever even tried to. It is bordering on evil to fight this fact and plain environmental vandalism. She is no patriot just because she says she is and drapes herself in the flag. She is racist and xenophobic; 20 years ago it was Asians, today it's Muslims, what will it be tomorrow?
"A bigot is a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance".
I am intolerant of Hanson based on scientific fact, not an opinion or prejudice. My main concern is her support of the climate change deniers, but she clearly displays bigotry in her anti Muslim, anti Halal, anti Asian, anti anything she is afraid of or doesn't understand opinions. She is intolerant of Asians and Muslims and God knows who else, and has thrown her hat into the anti science club without a clue what she is doing. I haven't looked at the One Nation site apart from what was posted about climate change, but shudder to think what else might be on there.
I am not a bigot but if you support Hanson and One Nation's hate policies you clearly are.
"Just sayin..." doesn't mitigate the offensiveness of your post.

I disagree. Read this well balanced article. https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2016/jul/04/pauline-hanson-takes-centre-stage-again-but-t...

I find posters who call other people names .. then justify their post by saying " I am not a bigot etc etc" ...... usually are

Interesting article and she makes some good points. I only burst into print when I read the link from myoclan and saw red, because climate change denial is just wrong. However I think her conclusion is a bit pollyanna and don't resile from what I've said.
Congratulations on the cheap shot bushie, was that in reference to the original insult or my reply?

That's an interesting article donna, but for it to be an effective strategy both "sides" would have to listen and join the conversation, and I can't see One Natin doing that.

Pretty sad that anyone could vote for someone who is clearly a xenophobic, bigoted racist without a clue how to do anything constructive with her life. Fortunately for her she possesses the stupid person's blessing of not knowing how stupid she is. I cannot express strongly enough my disgust for these morons who won't even try to understand what is happening to this planet, and deliberately go out of their way to try and sabotage efforts to redress the situation. The sooner this nasty, bitter, vile woman disappears the better.
Having said that she obviously possesses a great deal of tenacity, so congratulations Senator Hanson on being a tenacious, bigoted, shrill, carping monster.
You forgot she's a denier and she's also islamophobic. Two vile titles that no one wants to own.

Agree. Hanson gets her vote by spouting populist nonsense. Saying: "We support jobs for the young" is easy, delivering is not. If it was in power of the government it would have been done. The fact is that nowadays even people with university degrees have difficulties to find a job. More and more jobs will be replaced by automation, which can mean that the wealth will be concentrated in hands of few very wealthy and powerful people, or that we re-think what sort of society we want. It's happening now, almost all the jobs that coalition is boasting they created, are part time. That is OK and job sharing would definitely be the way to go, as long as the pay is high enough for people to live on. We need in parliament people with wide understanding of economics and ecology and all sorts of other stuff. Not simpletons capable of voicing people's discontent, but with absolutely no answers to any of the immediate problems we face.
Banning burka, halal certification and asking for Royal Commission into Islam might make small percentage of population feel better, but it has absolutely no positive implication on anything, but it will have negative impact on exports. Funny, many of the same people who want to ban halal certification, support export of life animals, which are then slaughtered in halal way without any cruelty checks.
I judge people by what they say and do, not by their religion or country of origin. Bigots, racists and xenophobes dislike whole group of people just on the basis of where they were born and what religion they were brought up in, or their sexuality. It is not bigoted to dislike hateful intolerant people.

Well that was a nice thoughtful post. Much better than my ranting.
If 10 million people repeat a lie, it is still a lie. Someone said that. Sort of.

Thank you ๐
Hanson's supporters are the sort of people who supported Hitler back in 1930s. Really nice bunch. That is why we do need laws to control such behavior. If we do not it will escalate into real violence.
