Essendon's upcoming AFL matches in doubt after Conor McKenna's coronavirus test
only 2 rounds into the new safe AFL season and a player tests positive
how can they continue with this fake season?
at least 2 rounds would see essingtin have to stand out whilst everyone self isolates (14 days)
do they just scrap 2 games for 3 teams?
there can be no getting around that surely
this player has been in contact with pretty much everybody i assume, if not directly then indirectly.

Queensland to host six Melbourne-based AFL teams as league scrambles to continue coronavirus-hit season

just a comment here, not aimed at you david (just posted at the end of this thread).
There are many people who are taking this isolation advice seriously. A lot of them are elderly or in ‘at risk’ groups. I live in an area where I could probably go out more than people in capital cities, but I don’t. My wife and I are following the ‘4 rules’ advice, and even then when shopping is needed to be done only one of us goes.
So, for me, being able to watch AFL on the telly provides me with some enjoyment, stimulation, joy (when the pies win), release from the mundane. For me, I appreciate the effort that the players, the broadcasters and the AFL officials are going to to put on a season despite the impediments.
The players are giving up a lot by travelling interstate for weeks/months. What other industry asks their workers to relocate interstate for months?
Now, I do respect the stance taken by stawks and others who generally have no interest in footy. Stawks isn’t against footy because of the coronavirus implications, she just doesn’t like footy . . . and that is fine.
What I don’t like during this whole coronavirus thing is the number of people who are all negative about a lot of things. News story about ‘XXXXX’, they post as if they are an expert or their opinion is right and others are wrong, news story about ‘YYYY’, they have an opinion and argue the point as if they are (again) right and their opinion is worthy of argument, news story about ‘ZZZZZ’ and it’s “disgraceful, heads should roll, who do they think they are (and other outrage)”.
@david
Please don’t think this post is me having a go at you, it is not. I don’t have the time tonight to get into it with you over what I have posted as I have an AFL match to watch.

looks like I am not alone in thinking that footy during pandemic lockdowns can lift people’s spirits:

it did, and if you had read the article in the link you would have known that the Pies had won. I understand why you wouldn’t read the article, it doesn’t fit your ‘footy this year is stupid’ stance.

I bet the Crows are wishing the season wasn't rebooted.
