It will end when sunnis and shias have all killed each other and there are no muslims left.

Such a terrible tragedy for all those families.

People have been fighting back against these types of attacks for years but nothing seems to be working in the long term, yet.

It's time the majority stood up and stopped the minority from driving the agenda

I'm sorry, Kilroy, but that statement is nothing more than a piece of chest thumping rhetoric.

What on earth is it actually supposed to mean?

What steps are we supposed to take to stop this "minority" from driving the agenda?

I presume you are referring to Muslims, so do we ban the burqa; forbid Australian companies from applying for halal accreditation; make Muslims wear identifying armbands? How about - as a last resort - round them all up and put them in concentration camps?

And if we did all this, what would it acheive? Would it have stopped the Taliban attack on that school in Pakistan? Would it have stopped the tribal massacres in Ruanda; the "ethnic cleansing" in Bosnia and Croatia or the almost inevitable civil war into which the Ukraine is currently sliding. Would it stop some future crackpot with an axe to grind from taking hostages and shooting innocent people?

Extremism has a multitude of faces, all of them hideous, but persecuting one section of society in one country isn't going to solve the world's problems

Pakistan's High Commissioner touched by affection of Canberra children after terror attack

Just hours after learning more than 130 school children had been murdered in a Peshawar classroom, Pakistan's High Commissioner was moved to tears when Canberran children brought her flowers.

I was trying to rummage my way through Martin Place yesterday and again today trying to get to meetings and there are hundreds upon hundreds of people there. Even as late as 6.30 tonight the crowds were huge. Either standing around of queuing up to lay flowers to what is already a phenomenal amount of floral tributes.

It is very touching.

But it did make me question where are we showing the same (or any!) outpouring of grief for those 130 children?
