Coronavirus disruption hits store shelves as Australian retailers face 'serious pinch' from COVID-19 outbreak
we are so much reliant on endless ships arriving from china loaded with all the stuff we cant live without and a superbug gets out of control
life as we know it may well end!

I can't think of what products I use that may be affected in the short to medium term.

I bought household stuff from China (just) before the coronavirus was in the news. One purchase is now languishing in Melbourne....but going no further. The rest - who knows?
I also ordered some items from Oz sellers (definitely Oz, not Oz-really-in-China) and I got a message today that one item is out of stock. Thinking about what is it, in all probability they probably sourced a lot of their stuff from China. I'm also replacing some of my ancient kitchen gadgets - from Oz sellers - and not surprisingly, most so far have come in boxes with Made in China on them. Eventually I guess they will run out.
It's little commonplace items we don't think about much until you need one that makes you realise how much comes from China....no matter whether the supposedly manufacturing company says they are Australian.....or from elsewhere on the planet.

I realise lots of items come from china but most consumable items I use don't. If my toaster broke there may be an issue or a spare part for the washing machine ( although I think it's made in Vietnam parts are most likely chinese) but these are all things that most likely won't happen in the next six months.

I just discovered that my brand new Imac is coming from China (yes, I should have thought to check with the Apple Maiden during our phone conversation before buying, but after deciding to take the pluinge I just got excited!)
Apple and TNT are both saying that it's still due to arrive Monday, so we shall wait with bated breath.

I buy all my clothes from the op shop or they are given to me, I have so many I wont be relying on buying any new clothes from China for a very long time

I recall Toyota having massive problems with getting cars out of the factory after Fukoshima. Apparently there was a problem with one or more of their suppliers having been destroyed and their 'just in time' parts philosophy meant they were running out. Simply because they wouldn't spend the money to store their own stock.
