i dislike the colour blue and always have and it has nothing to do with politics, I just dislike blue. 

lightening dance your "Might look a bit gay on me but who cares." is inappropriate and unnecessary.

Blue

Words that describe the colour blue include: trust, loyalty, wisdom, peace. These are exactly the type of feelings you want to be portray to those around you. Blue is a calming colour (just think of the Ocean and sky) and sends out a signal  that you are indeed honest and sincere. Studies have shown that wearing the colour blue increases your chances of acceptance by others than any other colour.

Red

In contrast to the colour blue, the colour red stirs emotions more than any other colour. Red is a strong colour, very emotional, an extreme colour that  can work against you. Unlike blue which has a calming effect, the colour red is a fiery colour and can be an intimidating colour for those around you.

But, but, but I have a red Mickey Mouse watch, a red car, and I just got a new pair of red boots! Oh and over there <<<< I even have a red bow tie thing around my neck!!

OK, in 25 words or less, and without any bias, could someone just summarize the basic facts for me?

Why is this blue tie thing such a big deal?

Is it because of some flippant comment to do with the Liberal Party members wearing blue ties? Kind of like I might refer to a bureaucrat as a *suit"?

I'm too lazy to work out what the story is, but all I know is that I'm getting the impression that I'm not supposed feed my preference for things that are coloured red.
